Dear Parents/Carers,
Please find below the information for homework in our class this week. I will post it here and in the Homework tab (to the right of this post initially) for the next couple of weeks but then it will only be posted in the homework tab and you will no longer be notified of changes/updates. The homework page does not notify you of a new post in the way the blog does.
Please return any homework to school on Monday and we will send out any further CGP grammar books that have been purchased.
Reading – read, read, READ! Hear your child read books from school, any books they have, comics, recipes – whatever interests them. Also read to them – the same – recipes, instructions, signs, notices etc. Share some special time if you can reading to your child.
Spelling – Your child should have brought home their spelling journals today.
Year 2 words to practice are – spelling rule – ‘oor’ as in ‘shut the door, oor’; ow sound as in ‘blow the snow, ow’ spelled ‘o’.
Words – door, floor, poor, most, both, old, cold, gold, hold, told
Year 3 Homophones – here, hear, knot, not, mail, male, ball, bawl, groan, grown
Grammar – Please do not start the CGP books yet – information will be posted here next week regarding what pages have been set. If you have not yet purchased a CGP book please refer back to the email sent by the school office. It is a voluntary purchase.
Maths – Maths with parents will go live next week and homework will be set on there for Year 2 children. Year 3 will be set homework on Times Table Rockstars, Numbots or MyMaths. Logins will be sent home tomorrow and next week for these platforms.
All children – If you can remember your log in for Numbots then spend some time on this, this week. It will really support next weeks lessons. Year 3 ONLY please login and use TTRS too.
