Welcome to Year 3/4

Learning is fun!

Judaism Week

This week we have been learning about Shabbat which is the name of the day of rest in Judaism.  We have learnt about how the Jewish people prepare for Shabbat and how they celebrate the day.  We have also created our own card and written a blessing for Shabbat. Here are a few examples of our fantastic work. Well done to the all the children who have worked really hard during Judaism week.

Homework 16.11.16

A lot of parents requested extra handwriting practice at parents evening so part of this weeks homework is a handwriting booklet. The booklet is very thick so we do not expect children to complete it in one week. Please keep it at home and just keep adding to it.

The second part of the homework is a maths mat for the appropriate year group. Please do not spend ages completing it. If you get stuck on a particular section, leave it and we will look at it in class.

Year 2 and 3 Graph Work

Today the Year 3 children interpreted data and then went on to work as part of a group to create a bar graph to represent that data. they worked so well together and came up with some fantastic bar graphs.

The Year 2 children also had to work together  to interpret data in  a tally chart and pictogram using questions provided. Again they worked so hard interpreting the data and then some even went on to write number stories about the data.

Reading Books and Spellings

Please can you remember to bring  your reading books and Reading Records into school everyday.   We change books on a Thursday but if you haven’t finished reading your book, then do not worry as you can change it when you finish it.

Children will not have a spelling test tomorrow but will be bringing home new spellings to practise in their Spelling Journals. The next test will be on Friday 11th November. Again please can we remind children to bring in their Spelling Journals every Friday. Thank you.
