Library Visit

Image result for ecclesall library

Today the children enjoyed a trip to our local library (Ecclesall Library) where we found out how we can borrow books. Did you know that you can take up to 15 books at a time? We found out about all the different categories of books there are and then the children had chance to read some for themselves.

For anyone who hasn’t got a library card who would like one, we have forms in the classroom for you to take home with you.

We look forward to hearing about trips you make to the library and the adventures on which the books may take you.

Thank you again to the parent helpers who came today.

Mastery Maths

Today we have been using dienes to add multiples of 10 to make 100.  We then went on to play a game where the total had to   make 100 and we had to explain our new equations in full sentences using our star words.

Homework – 3rd October

This week,  English homework  will not be based on inverted commas, it will be based on expanded nouns. These are explained on the sheet provided. We have also attached a sheet with mymaths log in details on. Please can you keep this sheet safe as your child will need these details throughout the year when asked to complete an online homework activity.  We have also allocated the homework to your child which they can access when they log onto the site.  This week they have been asked to complete an online homework activity based on Place value. Thank you.

Homework Project

On the curriculum newsletter, we have asked the children to write a very small project. We would just like your child to produce an information page either on the computer or by hand about the plague in London. For example, how it got there and how it spread, what were the symptoms and remedies. The information page can be on A4 paper and you can get it from the class teacher.  We have asked for it back on Wednesday 19th October so if children want to, they can present it to the class.

We will be learning more about how it spread to Eyam after our school trip which is on Friday 14th October. Thank you.
